While his expertise is of the literary sort, Robert Wallace has command of some interesting numbers, too.
The Northern Kentucky University literature professor recently has published a comprehensive study of artist Frank Stella and his work, which was inspired by Herman Melville's ''Moby-Dick.''
Melville began ''Moby-Dick'' in 1850 and finished it in 1851 - 138 chapters, two introductions and one epilogue, Wallace told guests at a recent reception recognizing publication of his book. Stella began his art series in 1985 and finished it in 1997. Wallace began his book in 1989 and finished it in 2001.
