NORFOLK -- The Hampton Roads Admirals muscled their way into first place in the ECHL's East Division Saturday night at Scope with a dramatic 2-1 victory over previous division leader South Carolina.
Victor Gervais and Andy Weidenbach, off a brilliant assist from Dominic Maltais, scored for Hampton Roads, which won for a league-best 39th time this season. Goalie Darryl Paquette and the Admirals defense did the rest.
South Carolina, which entered the game with three of the top-five scorers in the league, managed just 22 shots - including only three in the third period.
