THERE WAS A TIME when Hazel Lassiter had a ``plate full of things'' in her life.
``Now,'' says the 43-year-old Lassiter, ``I've got a whole platter full.''
On her platter is ``being there'' for her two daughters - 24-year-old Tosha and Vonni, 16, who are battling sickle cell disease.
And there's work where she spends 40 hours a week as business manager and ``unofficial mom'' of Norfolk State's Spartan Echo newspaper.
And there's school. Two years ago, Hazel figured it was about time she got her degree and started carrying a full load of classes.
