VIRGINIA BEACH -- Landmark Communications Inc. said Tuesday that it has sold its nearly two-year-old mass-market travel agency, The Vacation Store, to an investor group headed by the agency's top executives.
Terms weren't disclosed.
The purchasers are led by The Vacation Store's chairman and chief executive, David Kaufman, 40, and its president, David Wolfe, 34. The two men had come up with the idea for the agency while business associates in Britain.
Kaufman, a Hampton Roads native, was a senior vice president for Cunard Line, and Wolfe worked as a travel-management consultant in the United Kingdom ...
