WEST HARTFORD, CONN. -- Long after many would have given up, they kept at it, a couple of ex-Booker T. Washington Bookers, pushing each other through the stifling summer months at Norfolk's Hunton YMCA.
So when Michael Evans and Darren Sanderlin crossed paths for the first time as professional basketball players last Sunday night, it was more than a reunion of old friends.
It was vindication.
``It's so good to see him out there,'' Evans said. ``You know me and him have had to keep fighting.''
The fight is not over for either. Their moment, however sweet, was fleeting.
