MSPCA REMINDER: PROTECT PETS FROM HARSH NEW ENGLAND WEATHER
BOSTON, Feb. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- The Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA) today issued a reminder to pet owners that dogs, cats, and other animals need protection from New England's blustery cold and can suffer frostbite if left exposed long term to excessive temperatures.
Dr. Paul Gambardella, chief of staff for the MSPCA's Angel Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, said that pets, like people -- risk frostbite when exposed long term to frigid temperatures.
