For a former fighter pilot who served in Korea and Vietnam, heading a university's business outreach and development program might not sound all that exciting.
But Earnest J. ``Jim'' Cross Jr. welcomes it. ``After 12 years, I'm just ready for a change,'' Cross said.
After a dozen years of leading the engineering department, Cross, 66, will step down as chairman in January to serve as Old Dominion University's liaison for business development partnerships in Hampton Roads.
