During that time of year called ''normal'' on the Christian calendar, things will be anything but normal at Covington's Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption.
Starting Monday, between the two great church feasts of Easter and Christmas, workers will give Northern Kentucky's ''mother church'' the biggest overhaul of its 100-year life.
The $4.7 million project will require the Cathedral Basilica, a prominent tourist attraction and active parish, to close until early December. During that time, parishioners, including the cathedral's growing Hispanic community, will worship at St. John Church on Pike Street.
