COMPAQ COMPUTER CORPORATION PURCHASES 744 ACRES IN HOUSTON
FOR FUTURE GROWTH
HOUSTON, Feb. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Compaq Computer Corporation (NYSE: CPQ) today announced the purchase of 744 acres of land across from its existing headquarters here. The purchase brings the Company's total land holdings in the Houston area to 1,003 acres.
Compaq purchased the land for future expansion of its manufacturing and administrative facilities. Compaq currently employs 4,500 people in its main campus and satellite facilities in Houston.
