Apr. 15--Many Wisconsin small business owners are increasingly facing a gut-wrenching choice: eliminate health insurance coverage for their workers or accept the consequences of absorbing skyrocketing premium costs.
Former New Glarus Bakery owner Nancy Potter faced just such a decision earlier this year.
She decided, reluctantly, to drop health insurance coverage for her 11 employees when she faced a premium increase of 160 percent . "For a small business, that increase was prohibitive," she said.
