Detroit's electronic-music industry is becoming more visible with the opening of a studio in the Book Building by well-known DJ and producer Kevin Saunderson and the upcoming Detroit Electronic Music Festival.
Saunderson opened his studio a month ago to house his production company, KMS Productions, along with booking and talent-scout operations. One recording studio is operating, and the other is under construction.
Saunderson, 36, was one of the early innovators of techno and electronic dance music in the late 1980s, along with fellow Detroiters Juan Atkins and Derrick May. His largest commercial success came with tracks such as ``Good Life'' and ...
