JOHN WILEY TO ACQUIRE ALAN R. LISS, LEADING LIFE SCIENCES PUBLISHER

NEW YORK, Feb. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Alan R. Liss, Inc., a major publisher of journals and books in the life sciences, has signed a letter of intent to be acquired by John Wiley & Sons, international publisher of professional books, journals and textbooks.

Liss, 64, who was the only employee when he founded the company in New York in 1971, is now chief executive officer and editor-in-chief of an organization that publishes 61 journals in the life sciences and some 140 books annually.
