The evacuation of the U.S. Embassy in South Vietnam took place in April 1975. We went hunting for some out-of-the-way Web remembrances of the war era, and discovered these gems.

PRESIDENTIAL PARDON
You thought controversies over presidential pardons were new? Vietnam-era draft-law violators were let off the hook by this blanket 1977 pardon signed by President Jimmy Carter. Many veterans were not amused, but Carter was intent on healing national wounds.
