Apr. 19--Last year was one of change for the Southwestern Michigan Economic Growth Alliance, as businesses in SMEGA's business incubator were forced to find new quarters.
Demolition of the incubator, the former site of the Kawneer Corp.'s manufacturing facilities at 1105 N. Front Street in Niles, was prompted by the announcement that a new law enforcement building housing at least three local police departments would be erected at the site.
Since that announcement, however, officials have determined the property owned by the city of Niles isn't large enough to ...
