DALLAS _ For the gang that opened the joint, 20 short years ago, it was time to bid a goodbye, of sorts, to Reunion Arena on Wednesday night.
There wasn't a damp handkerchief in the house.
The Mavericks' final regular-season game at Reunion was highlighted by a ceremony and a commemorative video. Allow me to suggest, alas, that it was neither a Kumbaya nor a Kodak moment.
Reunion Arena, we hardly knew ye. Built on the cheap and bricked by the lowest bidder, the old blockhouse on Sports Street was obsolete almost from the day it opened.
