SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich.-With time on their hands, Mike and Carol DiMaggio checked out the new Great Indoors store here in suburban Detroit, one of the newest stores in their area.

Several times, the DiMaggios said they thought the store was ``beautiful.'' But after combing through a rack of bed pillows, Ms. DiMaggio added: ``We see a lot of stuff here that's cheaper at Meijer.''

Ms. DiMaggio aptly summed up the upsides-and the downsides-of Sears, Roebuck and Co.'s new home decor concept, Great Indoors: It's an eye-popping shopping experience, but do shoppers really need it?
