Lower earners are fastest growing user group. Streaming media use grows to 35 percent

* Lower-income Web users at home are now the fastest growing Internet group in the US, according to Nielsen NetRatings.

People earning less than $25,000 ([pound]17,600) a year accounted for 6.3 million of the total Internet population who accessed the Web in February 2001 - a 46 per cent increase on the 4.3 million recorded during the same month last year.
