A trip down memory lane is proving to be a big hit for those who like Big Band music.

The McHenry County Historical Society will host its first dance on April 28 for a sold-out crowd.

In conjunction with its new "Marching Off - Left Behind: McHenry County During World War II" exhibit, the historical society is recreating a 1940s USO Dance at the American Legion Post 482 in Union.

The dance will kick off the two-year exhibit, which is set to open in June.

The 250 tickets available for the USO dance sold out about six weeks ago, much to the surprise of dance organizers.
