BOATING ACCIDENT KILLS MAN EMPTY VESSEL CRASHES AT HIGH SPEED; SECOND MAN RESCUED FROM LAKE WASHINGTON.(News)

A boat outing on Lake Washington turned deadly last night when a Duvall man died and his friend was hospitalized after an accident involving a high speed and possibly alcohol, police say.

The King County medical examiner had not released the identity of the dead man late last night.

A second man, in his 30s, was in satisfactory condition at Harborview Medical Center, a nursing supervisor said.

Seattle police responded to the waters off Magnuson Park shortly after 6 p.m. Several people had called to report a small powerboat traveling at a high speed about a quarter-mile offshore from the park's boat ramp.
