KOHL'S AIMING FOR $1 BILLION SALES BY 1992
CHICAGO -- Kohl's Department Stores will dramatically increase its visibility in the Midwest when it puts its MainStreet stores under the Kohl's banner, and it expects sales to hit $1 billion within three years.
The 14 MainStreet stores in the Chicago area will become Kohl's units by March 5 and 12 stores in the Twin Cities and Detroit markets will change over by the end of April.
Milwaukee-based Kohl's bought 26 of the 27 MainStreet stores from Federated for about $90 million last November. A store in Fort Wayne, Ind., was not part of the acquisition, since Kohl's already had a store across the street. ...
