Apr. 24--WALLA WALLA, Wash.--From Norm McKibben's vine-covered knoll south of town, the world could hardly look better.
When it comes to wine, everything is going Walla Walla's way.
"It's been going phenomenally well," said McKibben, chairman of the state's wine commission. "It almost scares me."
Indeed, the valley's string of successes is hard to imagine -- and the valley's potential is hard to predict with just 10 percent of its optimal wine grape acreage in production.
