Although all five of the LCD panels we reviewed came with analog (that is, traditional 15-pin VGA) interfaces, some models employ digital, or DVI, connectors instead. What's the difference between the two, and should you favor one over another?
Put simply, an analog interface requires conversion of the digital signal produced by your computer's graphics card, and a digital interface does not. The latter produces the truest possible picture, with none of the losses or artifacts that can result from the digital- to-analog conversion. However, most LCDs do such a good job with the conversion that it's difficult to distinguish an analog picture from a digital one.
