Despite concerns about long delivery times and shipping costs, two companies are pinning their hopes on Internet sales of single copies and back issues.
As single-copy sales continue their free fall and smaller titles are bumped off crowded newsstands, the industry is searching for ways to boost sales and visibility. Two fledgling online enterprises think they might have a partial solution--virtual newsstands willing to stock single copies and back issues of popular and niche publications.
