In its position paper on the Green Paper on the security of energy supply in the EU, the European nuclear industry lobby Foratom has called for support from the European Commission. The industry sees the Commission as a key player in the process of assessing the contribution nuclear power can make to achieving the EU's environmental targets. Foratom further calls on the Commission to support political and public consultations leading to permanent solutions for the storage of all types of radioactive waste.
