BILLY CRYSTAL says he's had a lifelong love affair with the New York Yankees. The actor/-producer/-director will have you believe that he bleeds Yankee pinstripes.
So I'm surprised to see how shabbily he treats Mickey Mantle in ``61*,'' a film that Crystal directed for HBO. It premieres Saturday night at 9. It's one of two programs about baseball legends on cable this weekend.
``61*'' is a supermarket tabloid on film. Crystal revives the summer when party animal Mantle and straight arrow Yankee teammate Roger Maris pursued Babe Ruth's single-season home run record.
Hey, Mick. Ditch that blonde on your arm. Your wife ...
