Elle Decor comes knocking
New York City--The market for home magazines may be crowded, but Hachette is sure there's an unfilled niche for Elle Decor, which makes its debut in October with 200,000 newsstand copies.
Just as Elle was published in France prior to its U.S. introduction, Elle Decoration has been published in France since 1987. The new American edition will share some--but not all-- editorial, advertising and personnel with British, French and Spanish sister editions.
No one at Diamandis Communications, now a Hachette subsidiary, would concede that the American Elle Decor will compete directly with the host of existing U.S. ...
