Apr. 27--Murphy Oil Corp. reported record quarterly net income of $97.8 million, $2.16 per diluted share, compared to $49.1 million, $1.09 per share, one year ago.
Murphy refineries in Superior and Meraux, La., processed a record volume of crude oil, 164,556 barrels per day, a 21 percent increase. Refining margins per barrel also increased compared to the first quarter of 2000.
Additionally, crude oil prices averaged $22.65 per barrel, representing an 11 percent increase.
