Participants at a recent Tbilisi seminar entitled "Georgia between Iran and Europe" noted that Georgia is in a natural position to serve as a bridge between the Islamic Republic and the West, but for a number of reasons, this position will not be fully exploited any time soon. Less than a week before the seminar, Georgian officials were in Tehran to discuss possible areas of cooperation, such as trade, transport, and conflict resolution.
