Red Lobster Extends Restaurant Pincers To Japan; Expanding to 80 Units in Canada
Red Lobster seafood restaurants, a fixture in the United States and Canada for 20 years now, are making a hit in Japan, where the chain expects to have 65 units in Tokyo area within three years.
"The Japanese consider Red Lobster to be an ethnic restaurant serving typical American style seafood," Kress Muenzmay, senior vice president of purchasing and distribution for General Mills Restaurants, told the International Seafood conference. "Acceptance has been high."
