2001 APR 26 - (NewsRx Network) -- North Carolina women are healthier than they were 10 years ago, but many need to eat better, lose weight, and stop smoking, according to University of North Carolina researchers.
The 2001 North Carolina Women's Health Report Card was released April 6, 2001, by the North Carolina Program for Women's Health Research at UNC-Chapel Hill. The study, comparing data from 1990 and 1999, found the three leading causes of death among North Carolina women in both years were heart disease, stroke, and lung cancer.
