Juice from the fruit of the noni tree (Morinda citrifolia) is being sold as an herbal remedy. Proponents claim that it is helpful in a variety of conditions, including high blood pressure, menstrual cramps, arthritis, ulcers, sprains, depression, sexual dysfunction, senility, heart disease, and chronic fatigue syndrome. The American Journal of Kidney Diseases published a warning in its February 2000 issue (35:310-312) that noni juice, like orange juice and tomato juice, contains potassium.
