Dioxin is considered by some scientists to be the most toxic substance known to man, possibly equal to plutonium. Dioxin refers to a family of chemicals that are the unwanted byproducts of the modern industrial age. They are created in metal smelting, cement kilns, solid and medical waste incineration, chlorine paper bleaching, the manufacture of pesticides and plastics, as well as the burning of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastics.
