Demand is high, stock is healthy, but dock price could use a bump
"Stable" is the word John Car uses to describe the sardine fishery off Southern California in late winter. The term could well be applied to the coastwide fishery as a whole, which, after rising from the ashes of a decades-long down cycle in the mid-1990s, has leveled off at an annual catch well over 50,000 tons.
