AGAINST THE BACKDROP of a growing list of assets for sale in the chemical industry and a depressed aroma chemicals market, International Flavors and Fragrances Inc. (IFF) has yet to finalize a buyer for the former aroma chemicals business of Bush Boake Allen Inc. (BBA). A financial buyer or one of the other top flavors and fragrance (F&F) companies are considered the leading candidates for a possible sale.
An IFF official says the company has entered into preliminary discussions with potential third parties to buy the aroma chemicals business, but that it will not comment further until more definitive agreements have been reached.
