With its national plan all ready securely in place, Verizon Wireless now is bringing regional plans to its subscribers. The carrier's flat-rate plans in the Midwest and West give subscribers in 23 states wireless calling that expands their local calling areas and are free of roaming and long-distance charges.
Verizon, AT&T Wireless and Cingular Wireless are among the national carriers that offer such regional calling plans. The carriers say they are tailoring services to subscribers' specific needs to increase customer loyalty and further penetrate markets.
