Southwest Airlines Co, a low-cost US carrier, has launched a lawsuit against Orbitz, an online travel web site supported by five major US carriers.
The lawsuit alleges that the site makes unauthorised and misleading use of Southwest Airlines' scheduling and fares. Southwest Airlines is not a member of Orbitz and is not offering its tickets on the site. The low-fare carrier indicated that it filed the lawsuit on 3 May after trying to negotiate with Orbitz.
