An accident likely caused by a car's mechanical failure tied up traffic on the Beltline this morning and sent the driver to the hospital.
The 23-year-old Madison woman was on her way to work about 7:50 a.m. on the eastbound Beltline near Rimrock Road when the steering on her car apparently failed, said town of Madison Police Officer Rich Reilly.
