To expand its programs and to help more people find jobs, Vocational Guidance Services in Cleveland will spend an estimated $9.8 million to build a new training center and to renovate its existing building on East 55th Street.

The new two-story, 36,000-square-foot training center will be across the street from the existing center on East 55th between Thackeray and Longfellow avenues. It will cost about $4.7 million to construct, plus another $1.3 million to renovate the existing building, said Deborah Osgood, director of development for the 110-year-old organization. Construction could begin as soon as this fall.
