May 8--SPARTA, Ga.--Gov. Roy Barnes' commitment to economic development in rural Georgia is bringing 25 new jobs to fiscally depressed Hancock County.
Monday, Barnes was among the local and state officials to welcome Alliances for Better Education, Inc. to Hancock County. Though 25 jobs is a small start for a county that has no industry, Commission Chairwoman Betty Hill said ABE brings the promise of potential jobs and hope to the county.
"This is just the beginning; 25 jobs is a lot when nothing else is running in the county," Hill said.
