Centuries after huge sheets of frozen Ice Age water etched a new landscape across the North American continent, small groups of Native Americans traveled north searching for new homes. These Native Americans (ancestors of the Iroquois) discovered a land of rich soil perfect for farming. Their hunters roamed large forests full of small game animals.
Water was everywhere. Thousands of sparkling lakes and rivers, all stocked with flesh fish, tested the skill of young Iroquois fishers.
