JOE NORRIS WAS A BOWLING legend, and even after his death in February at the age of 93, his legacy grows.
Norris spent nearly all of his life making bowling headlines. He was a boy wonder who shot a 300 at 18 and an ageless wonder who rolled a 300 at 86 and, at 92, rolled in his 71st ABC championship.
The years in between were no less remarkable. Norris was one of the greatest team captains ever, sparking his clubs to five national championships. He also was a standout on the U.S. team that traveled to Berlin in 1936 for Olympic-style competition in conjunction with that year's Games.
