"The Vagina Monologues," at the Wilbur Theatre through May 20, and May 29-June 10.
"The Vagina Monologues" is one of those rare theatrical treats that works on several levels. Seeing it a second time, with three women reading/enacting the stories instead of just one, is a completely different experience, yet no less thrilling or empowering.
When the play originally was presented at the Wilbur in March, playwright Eve Ensler told all the stories. Ensler had a built-in intensity and commitment to these characters because of her involvement with the women who inspired the monologues.
