At roughly the same time Frank Thomas was meeting the press on Thursday, a nasty rainstorm blew through Comiskey Park.
Talk about setting the proper mood.
The White Sox have been pelted with injuries to their pitching staff all season. Now, they have to deal with the hard reality that their best hitter is likely out for the year with a tear in his right triceps.
"It's been the worst week of my life," Thomas said. "It's a hard pill to swallow."
Returning to the Sox after attending his father's funeral Tuesday in Columbus, Ga., Thomas tested the injury prior to Wednesday night's game against the Angels.
