May 17, 2001 at 12:30 p.m. (Eastern Time) is the date and time for the next hour-long audioconference sponsored by NLC's Institute for Youth, Education, and Families.
Titled "Safe and Smart: The Promise of Effective Afterschool Programs," the audioconference will support the argument that afterschool programs are vital to communities if they want to promote academic achievement and keep children safe.
