May 14--An experimental drug that blocks cancer's ability to fuel its own growth can help patients with head and neck cancer and pancreatic cancer, according to two new University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center studies.
The studies, presented Sunday at the American Society for Clinical Oncology meeting in San Francisco, came a day after a scientist at New York's Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center reported the drug benefited a significant number of patients with terminal colon cancer.
