MILWAUKEE -- Jeromy Burnitz spent the first seven innings Sunday simply observing Ben Sheets pitch. He confirmed the conclusions of the 30,084 who enjoyed the sun-drenched Mother's Day performance at Miller Park.
"He's fun to watch," the Milwaukee Brewers right fielder said.
So much fun the Brewers could get used to it. The rookie right-hander won his fourth straight game in a 4-1 decision over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Sheets limited the Pirates to four hits over seven innings while improving his record to 4-2 and lowering his overall ERA to 2.82, eighth-best in the National League.
