Marketing misfires by digital cable TV operators are allowing satellite TV service providers to gain subscribers at a fast pace.
A new study, performed by The Carmel Group for the Bear Stearns investment firm, assessed five major cable operators serving different cities. The findings showed that providers of digital cable services failed to capitalize on their existing advantage of offering high-speed Internet access or real-time interactive service, said Jimmy Schaeffler, the study's author and The Carmel Group's chairman and CEO.
