May 16--FORT WORTH, Texas--Cell-phone manufacturing suppliers in the Alliance business park have cut more than 200 jobs since the February announcement that Nokia, the world's largest cell-phone manufacturer, would halve its North Texas work force.
Just as Nokia's move to Alliance in the mid-1990s brought spinoff development, its contraction by 1,500 workers and a cut in production spun off layoffs among its suppliers.
Nolato Texas, Perlos and Triple S Plastics have all cut their work forces as demand slowed for cellular telephones and Nokia cut production.
