As part of a major operation codenamed Vlada, Italian police have arrested Alexander Zhukov, the head of London-based oil trading firm Sintez UK, on suspicion of supplying thousands of tons of weapons to the Balkans. Zhukov, who has been living in London for several years and carries a UK passport, was arrested outside his luxury villa in Sardinia and flown to Turin where he is being held in detention. Five others have reportedly been arrested on similar charges in Germany, Austria, Italy, and Belgium.
