DO'S AND DON'TS FOR THAT FIRST DATE.(LIFE)

Byline: Knight Ridder News Service

Surviving the first date can be rough. To help calm those dating jitters, consultant Sandy Bell suggests keeping the following things in mind.

DON'T:

Fire questions at your date.

Go overboard praising or damning your ex.

Tell your dates you could fall in love with them.

Act too secretive or tell your life story.

Discuss medical ailments or upcoming surgery.

Misrepresent yourself.

Wait to be asked for your business card. Offer it at the end of the date.

Show up late. Being fashionably late applies to parties, not dates.

Gripe about work.

Talk about yourself the whole date.
